ZooMontana is unique within a 500-mile radius! For over 10 years, locals and visitors to the area have enjoyed the 70-acre zoological park and botanical garden. Our animals originate from areas with similar climates and temperatures to those found in the Billings. Exhibits are constructed using state-of-the-art natural habitat techniques. Plant and animal living collections are not only those native to the northern Rockies and high plains but also from northern latitudes of Europe and Asia. This combination positions ZooMontana as a unique and interesting collection of approximately 50% exotic and 50% native species.

Hosting over 70,000 visitors annually, ZooMontana is one of the regions most popular tourist attractions. We are the only zoo and botanical garden in the state. ZooMontana is officially accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association; there are only just over 200 such accredited institutions in the United States.

Our mission is to create for our visitors an enjoyable, recreational and educational experience while providing quality care for the animal and plant collections and appropriate propagation programs for species that are needed.

I love this little zoo. You can tell they really care about raising animal awareness and caring for their animals. The exhibits are always clean and the animals all look really healthy. I send my child to pre school here as well, which is fantastic. I'm there so often, the animals recognize me and you can build a rapport with them. I guess my only suggestion would be to add the animals names to their habitats so people can relate personally to them. I've learned many of their names after going so often but that is something that would be nice.

I love what they have done at Zoo Montana. Jeff Ewelt is a stellar guy and he is doing great things along with the wonderful staff there. Go check it out for yourself!

The staff was incredible! We had the chance to meet lots of animals and be educated about them. The variety of animals was impressive for a small zoo in Montana.

Seen the zoo lights via horse drawn wagon. It was a great time for us, two children ages 5 and 7 and two adults. Temperature was about 10 degrees.
