ZooMontana is unique within a 500-mile radius! For over 10 years, locals and visitors to the area have enjoyed the 70-acre zoological park and botanical garden. Our animals originate from areas with similar climates and temperatures to those found in the Billings. Exhibits are constructed using state-of-the-art natural habitat techniques. Plant and animal living collections are not only those native to the northern Rockies and high plains but also from northern latitudes of Europe and Asia. This combination positions ZooMontana as a unique and interesting collection of approximately 50% exotic and 50% native species.

Hosting over 70,000 visitors annually, ZooMontana is one of the regions most popular tourist attractions. We are the only zoo and botanical garden in the state. ZooMontana is officially accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association; there are only just over 200 such accredited institutions in the United States.

Mission
Our mission is to create for our visitors an enjoyable, recreational and educational experience while providing quality care for the animal and plant collections and appropriate propagation programs for species that are needed.

I always love coming here for a walk. The animals are always so much fun to see. Every time I come here, there is always something new and improved. The grounds keepers keep the zoo in terrific shape and are very friendly and happy to help and share knowledge.

I absolutely love ZooMontana. My son is a year and a half and absolutely LOVES walking around the zoo and learning about the different animals. The wonderful people who work/volunteer there are always willing to help and answer any questions about the animals or vegetation that inhabit the zoo. It's a great place to spend the day with your kiddos and let them learn and play.

This is a nice and pretty large zoo. I personally think the animals habitats are amazing and the animals seem very content. They normally have some food trucks there (I was there last weekend and it was gourmet hotdogs and shaved ice) which is always a great way to take a little break. They also have a very nice flower garden and two different play structures for the kids (one is huge and sprawling).

Zoo Montana is a great place to bring your family for a little out door fun. They have indoor and outdoor animals. They do parties and have extremely fun events all year round. They have a huge play area for the kiddos and another little play area back by the Tiger exhibit. They have great prices and two package membership passes for the family. I highly recommend Zoo Montana. It is a small zoo though but a great one for the price.
