The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is Gainesville’s community zoo and the training facility for the Zoo Animal Technology Program. Situated on 10 forested acres we house rare and endangered species including matchie's tree kangaroo and ocelots.
The Teaching Zoo is operated as a part of Santa Fe Colleges Zoo Animal Technology Program; it is the premier wild animal technology program in the United States. Supervised by the professional staff of the Teaching Zoo, the students get hands-on experience in every aspect of wild animal care, from daily care to habitat construction and maintenance, and working with the public.
